What is real?

The question of what is real, is similar to the question of what is true? We tend to think that reality is exactly what we see, touch, taste, hear and smell. But are there things that are real but cannot be experienced with the five senses, such as joy or anger? You can pick up a straight stick and place it in water and it appears croaked, so is it really straight or croaked? In philosophy there is what is known as “Plato’s cave” where Plato argued that we do not live in a real world but we only see the images of the “real” like shadows on the wall of a cave. How’s that for woo woo thinking? The Lord Jesus said, “I am the way” (John 14:6), the way to what? How about the way to what is real, that what is real is found in the one who created all things, who made the atonement for our sins, who now lives to make intercession for all those who come to Him and has guaranteed everlasting life in the place that He Himself has prepared. To know what is real is to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and to filter all knowledge through His Word, the Bible.
